Daily Prayer

Psalm119-130

Father, we have hidden Your Word in our hearts that we might not sin against You. We thank You for the Living Word of God, which is You (John 1:1). As we partake of Your Word, we partake of You. The entrance of Your words gives light and understanding to the simple. As we eat the Word of God, just like we eat food, Your light shines within us so we can see You and understand You, and we begin to enter into holy communion. You are the bread of life, and we receive it humbly and gratefully because You gave it for the life of the world (John 6:51). You are the living bread and because we eat this living bread, we shall live forever in Christ (John 6:51).

You are also the light that shines in the darkness, and the darkness could not overcome it (John 1:4-5). Because we have taken in Your Word--Your flesh--Your light shines within us. The light and power of Your Word penetrates the darkness in the depth of our souls and bodies, and it must flee. The devil has no power over us (or in us) any longer. We understand now Lord, because the entrance of Your words gives light. May the light of Your glory rise and saturate every fiber of our beings—inside and out—everything seen and unseen, every work of our hands, the airwaves, the atmosphere and every work of Your hands. 2 Thessalonians 2:8 says that You will destroy the lawless one with the breath of Your mouth and the brightness of Your coming. The darkness has been nothing more than a lie and distraction from the truth of Your light. We understand Lord, because the entrance of Your words gives us understanding that the light has overcome the darkness. Hallelujah! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for victory! Thank You, Father! Amen.

The entrance of Your words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple.  Psalm 119:130 NKJV
