Thank You, Father, for Your amazing promises. There is nothing more comforting than the safe covering of Your wings. You promise to bless the righteous with favor that is like a shield. In Jesus Christ, we are righteous. When we take His Name like a bride taking the name of her groom, we receive Your protective covering. We become Yours, and You are a fierce and jealous God. As we surrender to Your authority, You spread Your protective covering over us in so many ways—physical protection, financial security, deliverance from our enemies—socially and spiritually.

We are like sheep following our Shepherd. There are so many things that can and have come against us, but in Christ we have the shield of Your Holy Name. Nothing can stop the hand of God. You will accomplish Your will in Jesus’ Great Name, and nothing and nobody can hinder it. We are saved only by grace through faith, not our works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). Help us believe Your salvation, Lord, and receive Your glory in righteousness. All we have and all we are is Yours, Lord. Use us for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name we pray, amen.
