Daily Prayer

James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Father, thank You for opening our eyes to the truth about Who You are—a good Father Who gives good and perfect gifts. The trouble and pain in this life is not punishment, though it can be an opportunity to believe the truth, to grow our faith, and to cling to You where we find comfort, peace, healing and perfect love. This is where we discover Who You are. Your gifts are good and perfect, full of light, mercy, truth and freedom—the freedom Jesus died to give us. The darkness and pain come from the shifting shadow, the great enemy of our souls—Satan who tries to disguise himself as You. Lord Jesus, we know You use all things for good for those who love you, but now we choose to align ourselves with the King, not the counterfeiter. We believe You are good, and You give only good and perfect gifts. It is our faith that makes us well (Mark 5:34). What we believe can save us and heal us, and yet we know that You are the author and finisher of our faith—Lord over all. Father God, we believe You are Love and You love us, for You did not spare Your only Son, but gave Him up for us. Blessed be Your Great Name, O Lord! We love You and thank You and receive Your good and perfect gifts. Amen and amen!

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. James 1:17 NASB
