Malachi 3:16 (NKJV)

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.

Bible Commentary

Malachi 3:16 is a Bible verse from the Old Testament where the Lord observes and elevates those who fear Him. This is a fascinating verse. The Song, You Won’t Relent, contains some very thought-provoking lyrics. Speaking to God the Father, they sing:

You won’t relent until You have it all

My heart is Yours

Come be the fire inside of me

Come be the flame upon my heart

Come be the fire inside of me

Until You and I are One

I don’t want to talk about You like You’re not in the room

I want to look right at You, I want to sing right to You

How many conversations do we have about God with the awareness that He is listening? Malachi 3:16 says, “Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them…”

He is worthy of all our focus, all of our attention and all of our attraction. If anyone should be the subject of our conversations, it is God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit have far surpassed any human feat or endeavor—real or imagined. They sacrificed the best of Heaven to penetrate the darkness of the devil’s dominion to intervene and save us from death and eternal separation from God’s Presence. Love covers the multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8)

Compared to that, nothing else is even worth talking about!

Unlocking the Truth – Honor His Name

Those who fear the Lord and who meditate on His name have God’s undivided attention, and when we speak of Him and proclaim His great works, He is greatly pleased. Malachi 3:16 says a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.

Imagine the great rewards reserved for us in Heaven, but even more exciting, look at what God says about blessing us even now!

Malachi 3:17-18 “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.” 18 Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.

A time is coming when those who fear the Lord will be raised up in Christ, to be spared from God’s hand of judgment on the earth. This is a time when there will be a clear distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.

All of Heaven yearns for Jesus Christ to be revealed as King of kings and Lord of lords upon the earth, for Him to receive the rightful reverence He deserves, when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Romans 14:11)

Let us respectfully honor His Great Name with our words in conversation, in song and in praise to God our Father. May Heaven and earth proclaim that He is King forever and ever.

Study the Bible verse of Malachi 3:16 and honor Him with your lips. Amen and amen.
