…the word “strength” comes before the word “honour” in Proverbs 31:25. Some Hebrew meanings of “honour” are: magnificence, ornament or splendor, beauty, glorious, excellency, majesty.

These are words that describe God. It’s fascinating that God shares His honor with us, His people—His daughters. As we grow in grace and truth as virtuous women, He delights to adorn us with His beauty and splendor.

He first adorns us with His beauty on the inside—where our thoughts and feelings live. As our thoughts and feelings become beautiful by the purity of His thoughts and feelings within us, that beauty and splendor bubbles up to the surface.

We Need to Get Out of the Way

God is drawn to the beauty of the Holy Spirit living within us, but sometimes we just need to get out of the way. As we surrender to Him, His strength and honor rise up in us. Remember John the Baptist who spoke of Jesus Christ, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).

As we surrender to His will, we are transformed more and more from the natural to the supernatural. As we transform more and more into the beauty and righteousness of Christ, we become irresistible in His sight.

This is more than enough reason to rejoice—now and in time to come. Hallelujah!

Proverbs 31:25 –  Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
