Bible Commentary

Psalm 25:13 is a Bible verse and promise from the Lord for those who fear Him.

In the NASB version, Psalm 25 is entitled, “Prayer for Protection, Guidance and Pardon”. Isn’t that exactly what our nation needs right now? King David wrote these words many, many years ago. They needed protection and pardon back then, and we still need it today—all of us.

God doesn’t just look upon the individual, but upon the entire nation. We are held accountable for our deeds, individually and corporately. That can be a very sobering thought.

It doesn’t seem fair, particularly if the majority of those in our nation have views and values completely foreign to God’s ways and the followers of Jesus Christ. Why then, would we be held accountable for the nation, if we don’t share its views or take part in its deeds?

You see, God looks at the big picture. He desires that all should come to repentance—not just some, but all.

Luke 24:46-47 says, “and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.”

There are those who do not fear the Lord, and those who do.
