…recognize that He actually speaks to us personally, either through His Word, the Bible or through the Holy Spirit, we’ll gladly be still before Him.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God.” The word “know” in Hebrew has many meanings, some of which are: to ascertain by seeing, observation, care, recognition, consider, discover.

Reading the words are one thing, but to consider the words, care about them and discover their importance is something else altogether. We must take some time to be still and drink in the meaning of His Word into our heart, not just our head.

God delights in sharing Himself with us, if we will only sit still for a time and commune with Him. Our sacrifice of time shows Him we value not only talking to Him, but listening to Him and discovering who He is.

He has so much to share with us. Psalm 46:10 also says, “I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.”

As we get still for a time to know Him more deeply and discover more about Him, He is exalted in our eyes. Nothing compares to the greatness of knowing God.  Study the Bible verse of Psalm 46:10 and uncover the treasure of being still before the Lord.
