…I am grateful for the leadership and protection of my husband who wears the mantle of responsibility for his family and estate. I didn’t always recognize his role as leader in our marriage, but with the help of Christ I am now like one of the daughters of Judah who is glad for it. His leadership relieves me of that heavy burden of decision-making.

Though I still manage the day-to-day affairs of my household as a wife and make decisions, the weight of leadership has been lifted from me. The mantle of leadership was designed for the husband, just as Christ is the head of the church. (Ephesians 5:23)

After a period of time, if we’re carrying something that was not designed for us, we will buckle under the weight of it.

Do you recall the story of David and Goliath, when King Saul put his armor on David so he could fight the battle with Goliath? David was much smaller in stature than Saul, and his armor was much too heavy for him. David defeated Goliath with his own tools, not Saul’s.

Does Your Armor Fit?

What sweet relief when we give up that which does not fit our role and calling in life. When we release it to God for Him to put in proper order, it feels so good. We can conquer our giants with the tools God designed for us, not with someone else’s.

If someone you love is not assuming his role of responsibility, look and see if you have his armor on. Chances are, the burden of it has made you cranky and irritable. He can’t put it on until you take it off.

Let’s be prayerful as we look for the truth. When we seek the truth, we will surely find it. (Matthew 7:7) When we’re walking in the God-ordained role He made just for us, like the daughters of Judah, we will rejoice and be glad.

Study the Bible verse of Palm 48:11, and discover your God-ordained role in life and rejoice! It feels so good!
