Psalm 51:12 (KJV)

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Unlocking the Truth - Jesus was Enough

Even though his sin was great with even greater consequences, David knew he wasn’t a lost cause and that he could approach God with a repentant heart.

David knew the Holy Spirit of God, and he implored God to uphold him with His Spirit. In the verse immediately prior, he begs God not to take His Holy Spirit from him. (Psalm 51:11)

We can approach God with confidence in His mercy, no matter how great our sin is, and no matter how long it has been accumulating. How do I know?

Jesus Christ.

His blood was enough to cover what we’ve done. It will always be enough.

Jesus Christ was the perfect sacrifice. He went to the cross willingly, knowing it would take a blameless Lamb of God to satisfy the wrath of His anger, and He was it.

Not you, and not me.

Let’s not put ourselves in the shoes of the One Who already paid the price, by trying to exonerate ourselves. That can’t be done.

And why would we want to when Christ already did it for us? All we have to do is openly receive the gift of His mercy.

MyGrace

I understand that sometimes it takes a big faith and an even bigger confidence to approach the throne of grace when we know and feel a deep sense of regret, remorse and sorrow over our sin.

What we really want to do is run from God, not to God. We feel a need to hide from the shame, embarrassment and guilt; but we can’t outrun those things. They will always catch up with us and cling to us, until…

Until we trust God with our mess-up’s.

Until we really believe Jesus died for us.

Until we release all of our hang-up’s—past, present and future—to Him.

Until we confidently accept the gift of Jesus Christ as our substitute.

Until we truly believe Christ really loves us, personally.

We can be joyful again; when we’re free from guilt, when we’re free from shame, and when we stop running from God and start running to Him.

What about it? Are you ready? Are you ready to be free?

You can be free in an instant. Release your burdens. Allow the Holy Spirit to uphold you and let Christ come in and restore the joy of your salvation.

Study the Bible verse of Psalm 51:12 to know the joy and freedom of the mercy of Jesus Christ.
