Song Of The Day |
Romans
8:27 is a Bible
verse in the New Testament that tells us
the Holy Spirit prays
for believers according to God’s will.
If
you
could choose just one person to pray for you, who would it be? No
matter how
honored or distinguished that person is to you, they couldn’t possibly
compare
to the Holy
Spirit!
Romans
8:27
says the Holy Spirit makes intercession for the saints. “Intercession”
is
defined like this: an interceding; mediation or prayer in behalf of
another.
Let’s
take
a look at the Greek meaning for "saints," which is: sacred (physically
pure,
morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated). Of course,
none of
us is pure on our own, but with the covering of the blood of Jesus, we
are.
If
you have
accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are a saint—physically pure
and
morally blameless. God sees you through the filter of the blood
of
Christ.
That’s
cause
enough to rejoice, but there is more. The Holy Spirit prays for you
according
to God’s will. If no person on earth prayed for you, there is no cause
for
concern because the Holy Spirit does. Hallelujah!
So
what is
it the Holy Spirit is praying over us? Romans 8:27 says He prays
according to
the will
of God.
We
are God’s
children and He wants the absolute best for us, but we are all
different people
with different gifts and experiences. What He is praying over one is
probably
completely different than what He is praying over another.
God
has a
plan for our lives, and unfortunately, Satan
also has a plan. It’s
critically
important to line up with the right
plan—God’s perfect will.
Matthew
18:19 says,
“Again I say to you that if two of
you agree on
earth
concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My
Father in
heaven.”
We
already
have the Holy Spirit on our side, praying for us according to God’s
perfect
plan. All we need to do is join Him in that prayer. Simply ask God to
reveal to
you what the Spirit is praying
over you.
When
He makes it clear what He is praying over us, our heart is
transformed by His
amazing
love,
because we know the Father’s heart toward us. What we desperately
want in our life is what He also wants for us.
As
we
receive His prayer with
thanksgiving, let's join Him in that prayer.
May
we always walk with Him in intimate knowledge of His great
love for us. Let's seek
it. Absorb
it. Treasure it.
Adore
Him,
for He adores you.
