5 Things Satan Doesn’t Want You to Know

Sermon by Charles G. Moore

Continued…

God sees us through the blood of Jesus and Jesus’ blood acts like a filter that takes away our impurities. So, when God looks upon us He sees us as perfect.

3.   Once you are saved, you are saved forever.

One of Satan’s favorite lies is to tell us that we can lose our salvation.

If we could lose our salvation, then why did Jesus have to die on the cross? Believing this lie would be saying “Jesus, your sacrifice was not good enough to save me completely.” Jesus died once so that we would be saved forever.

Anytime you find yourself believing this lie, simply open up the Bible and turn to one of the following verses and know with confidence YOU ARE SAVED – FOREVER!

John 10:28-29 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

4.    You are not alone.

We have all felt alone and had times when it seemed God was not listening to us. That is when Satan will tell us that we are alone, that God has turned His back on us.

First, we are never alone.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

John 14:18 -19 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.

Secondly, it might seem like God is not listening to our prayers, but He is! He may not immediately answer us, but He hears our prayers. Here are some reasons why our prayers are not being answered:

A.    What we are asking is not His will for us.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

B.    We are asking, but not believing.

Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.

C.    Our motives are wrong.

James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.

D.    God is preparing you to receive.

2 Kings 3:16-17This is what the LORD says: Make this valley full of ditches. For this is what the LORD says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink.

The armies of Judah and Israel were out in the middle of the desert preparing for battle and with no water and they were scared. They inquired of Elisha the prophet, and 2 Kings 3:16-17 above was the word passed to them from God through Elisha.

Obediently, they dug the trenches. Then one morning they looked and saw water coming from Edom and filling up their trenches. They and their animals had plenty of water to drink.

God asked them to do a strange thing, to dig ditches and prepare for water without rain. God wants us to prepare for the blessing, but we have to listen to Him and to get ready for Him to work through us.

5.   Your behavior does matter.

Satan tells us because we are saved and God loves us, our behavior ultimately doesn’t matter all that much.

Although we are covered by the saving blood of Jesus, our behavior as Christians does matter. In fact, Romans 8:9 says now that we are saved, “we are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you.” Because the spirit of God dwells in us, we are to strive to be like Him.

Titus 2:12 Training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
This means that God’s grace instructs us to put our lives in proper order. Some believe God’s mercy is an excuse for unprincipled living. But it is just the opposite, God’s grace is our call to live through Him. In other words, to live an upright life.

It is Satan’s mission to keep the lost from coming to the saving grace of Jesus Christ and to damage the testimony of those of us who are saved. He will use every tool at his disposal, telling us lies, making us feel alone, unloved, undeserving and so on.

Anytime we are being attacked with these negative thoughts or starting to believe the bad things Satan is telling, remember those thoughts are not from God! God loves us and would never say these hurtful things to us. He only wants the best for us and is preparing us for an amazing life in Him!

Ephesians 2:4-5

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)

Amen!
